- Which of these cover autism and dyslexia, not just ADHD?
- Autism: the World Autism Organisation, National Autistic Society (UK), Autismus Deutschland, Autism Alliance of Canada, Abraça (Brazil), Amaze (Australia) and FPDA (Portugal). Dyslexia: the British Dyslexia Association and Dislex/APDIS in Portugal.
- Who actually sets the standards?
- W3C WAI. WCAG, ARIA and COGA all come from there, and accessibility law in the EU, UK, US, Canada, Australia and Brazil points back to those criteria.
- Which body do I consult in my country?
- Portugal: IDIPD and CNOD. Brazil: ABNT and CONADE. Canada: Accessibility Standards Canada and the AODA Alliance. Australia: OZeWAI and the Human Rights Commission. Germany: BITV-Test and Deutscher Behindertenrat. UK: DAC and Disability Rights UK. US: the ADA National Network.
- Is a certification necessary?
- Not to do good work. CPACC, WAS and the BITV-Test are the recognised marks, but documented practice and testing with disabled users carry more weight.
